The Tata Nano. When you hear that name you may wonder did Apple came out with a new MP3 player. But, it’s actually that latest in inexpensive cars.
After reading about this new car here, I didn’t really know what to think. I was kind of split on my opinion of it. The car company says that they developed this car priced at only $2,500.00 (you read that right only 2 1/2 thousand), so that more people will be able to afford them.
Ok, so here’s this auto manufacturer that is building and selling these things in India. Does India really need more traffic on the little roads that they have? What about the price of gas? It’s expensive over there and making it more demanding won’t help out any.
Then there’s the other side of the coin. It’s nice to see people being able to afford a car when they couldn’t before. This may help out the economy over there. People living in more rural areas might now be able to get jobs in larger cities because of better transportation.
Regardless what the manufacturer of this vehicle says. I know that they are just out to make a buck. They have figured out how to tap into another market with their product. This may be a good deal for people wanting to buy this vehicle, but I think I’ll give it a thumbs down for the Tata Motors.
